Today, an overarching trend is the miniaturization of devices with a concurrent demand for more functionality in a variety of environments. HZO, the global leader & innovator in protective solutions is leveraging this trend by providing protective coatings with nanometer thinness, removing the bulk and weight associated with older protection techniques.
Founded in 2011, HZO is on a mission to deliver world-class nanocoating solutions that safeguard electronics, electrical products, and critical applications in an ever-changing market. “Our variety of coating materials, domain experience, and optimized equipment allow for a scalable, cost-efficient, guaranteed protection solution,” says Rachael Lerebours, EVP, Global Sales & Marketing at HZO.
A focus on innovation and quality has allowed the company to work with some of the most respected brands across markets including consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, medical, and IoT, to deliver a more resilient, reliable, and durable level of protection.
As electronics become more integral in our daily lives, we continue to look for dependable solutions that will keep components reliably running in any operating environment.
When Prismview, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics needed high-quality protection to protect the sensitive circuitry within their outdoor LED displays, HZO worked with the company’s engineering and manufacturing groups to apply a protective coating capable of withstanding harsh weather and pollutants. HZO also recently partnered with Sarcos, a global robotics technology leader, to provide a protection solution for the company’s remote visual inspection robot (RVI), Guardian®
S. HZO’s solutions enabled the RVI to be able to traverse harsh liquid environments while achieving uninterrupted functionality and connectivity, keeping its operators out of harm’s way.
By broadening the scope of its materials and processes, HZO tailors solutions to specific business needs so that business leaders do not feel pigeonholed into choosing a specific protection solution that may not be ideal for their organization. “When it comes to protecting your electronics, we feel that one size does not fit all,” Lerebours noted.
In addition to multiple coating techniques, HZO uses proprietary cost-cutting measures, such as automated masking and demasking (a process to ensure parts such as connectors do not get covered in film material) to drive down prices of “gold-standard” protection such as Parylene coatings.
In short, with an ever-expanding patent portfolio and a unique combination of people, process, capital equipment, and material science, HZO can create catered solutions for clients where it is most convenient for them -either on-premise or in one of its global Centers of Excellence.
